The Bush Garden was created in 2008 after the University of Adelaide extended the leased area for the kindergarten. The playground was extended and a bush garden planted along the Waite Road boundary.
With Grants from the Department of Heritage and Environment Urban Forests “Grow a Great School” Program, and the help of kindergarten Families, 700 small plants, grown from local provenance seed, were planted over 3 years. A frog pond is nestled amongst the bushes and the children are able to go out for discovery walks or to share group times in this garden.
Local birds and insects use this garden as a corridor between Waite Conservation Reserve and the Waite Arboretum.
